OVERTON COUNTY COUPLE CHARGED IN ONGOING TBI STATUTORY RAPE INVESTIGATION
COOKEVILLE – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have secured indictments for a Monroe, Tennessee couple in connection to an ongoing statutory rape case.
At the request of 13th District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway, TBI Special Agents began investigating Travis and Traci Puckett on February 12, 2015. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information connecting the couple to multiple sexual offenses involving a minor teenage victim that occurred in 2007, while Travis and Traci volunteered at the same church as the alleged victim.
On Monday, the Clay County Grand Jury returned indictments, charging Travis (DOB 8-26-80) with nine counts of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure and charging Traci (DOB 12-11-70) with four counts of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure. Today, the couple turned themselves in to a TBI Agent at the Clay County Jail, where, at the time of this release, Travis was being held on $45,000 bond and Traci was being held on $20,000 bond.
Today’s charges are in addition to three counts of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure and three counts of Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure secured by TBI Agents for Travis Puckett in Overton County in September, in connection to this ongoing investigation.
