CLAY COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH PERJURY, MAKING A FALSE REPORT

 

 

COOKEVILLE – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment and arrest of a Celina man on charges of perjury and making a false report.

                                                                   

At the request of 13th District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway, on July 1st, TBI Special Agents began investigating an allegation of sexual assault against an officer of the Celina Police Department. The alleged victim, Stanley York, reported that the officer assaulted him during an arrest in February. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that York lied about the assault. 

 

On Monday, the Overton County Grand Jury returned indictments charging York, 48, with one count of Making a False Report and one count of Perjury. Today, TBI Special Agents and deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Departmentarrested York without incident at his home. He was transported to the Overton County Jail and booked on a $10,000 bond.
