COOKEVILLE – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Department of Commerce and Insurance, Overton County Sheriff’s Office and Livingston Police Department has led to the arrest of a Livingston man on arson charges.
On September 19th, at the request of 13th Judicial District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway, TBI Special Agents along with Department of Commerce and Insurance Fire Investigators began investigating three residential fires that appeared to be intentionally set. The Overton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the first fire, which occurred at a home on Upper Hilham Road in Livingston. Witnesses state an unidentified man was observed throwing something inside the home, which started the fire. Over the course of the evening, officers and firefighters responded to two additional residential fires on Oak Street and Hilham Highway. During the course of the investigation Calvin Booher was developed as a suspect.
Early Tuesday morning, officers with the Livingston Police Department located and arrested Booher. He has been charged with one count of Aggravated Arson in connection with the fire at the home on Upper Hilham Road. Booher, 38, was booked into the Overton County Jail and his being held on a $750,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
