Fire Fatality Update

Fire and Law Enforcement Officials have confirmed the identity of the

person that perished in an early morning house fire on Monday January 9,

2017. The person is 88-year-old Jean W. Parker who was the sole resident

of the home located at 89 Bemis Cemetery Road.

The cause of the fire is considered accidental in nature. The fire started

around a wood burning stove located in the living room. Investigators

believe the fire escaped from the confines of the wood burning stove while

Mr. Parker was adding wood to the stove in the early morning hours.

Family members confirmed that the residence was equipped with a working

smoke alarm.
