WINFIELD MAN INDICTED IN CHILD PORNOGRAPHY INVESTIGATION
KNOXVILLE – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment of a Winfield man on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor.
In December 2015, at the request of 8th District Attorney General Jared Effler, TBI Special Agents began investigating information obtained from the Harriman Police Department concerning an individual believed to be sharing images containing child pornography online. During the course of the investigation, Agents determined that James Logan Shoemaker (DOB 6/29/93) was the individual responsible for sharing the images.
Today, the Scott County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Shoemaker with one count of Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. He was arrested this afternoon and booked into the Scott County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
