TWO CHARGED IN MEIGS COUNTY HOMICIDE FOLLOWING JOINT INVESTIGATION

 

DECATUR – A joint investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and multiple East Tennessee law enforcement agencies has resulted in the arrest of two people who face charges in connection to last week’s homicide of a Decatur man.

At the request of 9th District Attorney General Russell Johnson, on May 15th, TBI Agents joined law enforcement officers from the Decatur Police Department, Sweetwater Police Department, Meigs County Sheriff’s Department, McMinn County Sheriff’s Office, and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, in investigating the death of Roger Dale Miller (DOB 10/17/1958). His bound body was found on Eaves Ferry Road in Decatur that morning. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that identified Clifford Howard as the individual responsible for the death of Roger Miller, and Stacy Miller, the victim’s ex-wife, as an individual who facilitated.

 

On Tuesday, Clifford Eugene Howard (DOB 11/24/1979) was charged with one count each of First Degree Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Theft over $10,000. Howard, who was in custody in the Monroe County Jail on unrelated charges, was served with warrants today. He is being held without bond. Stacy Marie Miller (DOB 07/01/1975) was charged with one count each of Facilitation of First Degree Murder, Facilitation of Felony Murder, Facilitation of Aggravated Robbery, Facilitation of Aggravated Kidnapping, and Theft over $10,000. She was arrested in McMinn County after a short foot pursuit, and booked into the Meigs County Jail on a $375,000 bond.
