Three Murder Suspects Arrested In One Day By Marshals Task Force

Memphis, Tenn.- Tyreece Miller, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee, announces the

arrest of Denika Shannon, Anthony McKinney and a male juvenile for First Degree Murder.

On April 7, 2022, Michael Mahan was found shot to death at the 3600 block of Hallbrook, Memphis,

Tenn. A warrant was issued for the arrest of a 16-year-old male juvenile for this crime. The fugitive case

was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF).

On May 10, investigators with the Memphis Police Department Fugitive Apprehension Team located the

juvenile at a school in Memphis. His location had been developed from information by the TRVFTF. He

was taken into custody without incident.

Also on May 10, Denika Shannon, 30, and Anthony McKinney, 32, were located at a residence at the

4400 block of Summer Wells Road. They both had warrants for First Degree Murder. The underlying

details of the crime are not known at this time. Assisting the TRVFTF with this location and arrest was

the Shelby County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team. Shannon and McKinney were taken into

custody without incident.

In addition to these three arrests, Jaden Jermaine Bills, 19, was arrested on May 10 in Little Rock, Ark.,

by the U.S. Marshals TRVFTF and Deputy U.S. Marshals in Eastern Arkansas. Bills was wanted for a

double murder in Jackson, Tenn. A press release about this arrest was issued earlier today.

“Four murder suspects safely taken into custody in one day speaks to the dedication and professionalism

of the U.S. Marshals Service,” said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller.

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force in the Western

District of Tennessee with offices in Memphis and Jackson. Its membership is composed of Deputy U.S.

Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies,

Jackson Police Officers, and Special Agents with the Tennessee Department of Correction. The primary

mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
