TEXAS FUGITIVE WANTED FOR CONTINOUS SEXUAL ABUSE OF A YOUNG CHILD APPREHENDEND BY U.S. MARSHALS IN MEMPHIS

Memphis, Tenn. – Elizandro Gonzalez, 50, who was wanted out of Dallas County, Texas, for a First-Degree Felony of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child was captured by the U.S. Marshals yesterday. The U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee, Tyreece Miller, announced today.

On Aug. 4, 2022, a Peace Officer in the City of Irving, Texas, obtained an arrest warrant for Gonzalez. Gonzalez is alleged to have sexually assaulted a minor for eight years while residing at the victim’s residence. The victim was alleged to have been assaulted between the ages of 6 to 14 years old.

The U.S. Marshals Northern Texas Fugitive Task Force requested assistance from U.S. Marshals in Memphis in locating Gonzalez. On Aug. 8, the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Memphis accepted the case to locate and apprehend Gonzalez.

On August 22, the Two Rivers Task Force and the Memphis Police Fugitive Apprehension Team went to an address in the 500 Block of Plum Avenue in Memphis and arrested Gonzalez without incident.

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The Western Tennessee Division of the TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
