U.S. Marshals Capture Memphis Murder Suspect in Texas

Memphis, Tenn. – On August 22nd, 2023, U.S. Marshals captured a Memphis man in San Antonio, Texas who was wanted for First Degree Murder.

Kenneth Jackson, 31, was wanted for First Degree Murder and Convicted Felon in Possession of Handgun. The incident occurred around 4 p.m., on June 13th, 2023, when a man was shot to death at a residence in the 4200 block of Lawnview Street in Memphis, Tennessee. Detectives with the Memphis Police Department developed the case and identified Jackson as the suspect. A warrant was issued for Jackson’s arrest the same day.

On June 14th, the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force adopted the case. Task Force Officers developed information that Jackson had fled to San Antonio, Texas, and sent a lead to the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. They were able to find Jackson and take him into custody without incident.

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Correction Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
