Lane College student selected as HBCU All-Star by White House Initiative
Jackson, Tenn (Sep 26, 2017) - Lane College student, Jacarri Relf, recently attended the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) where he was selected as a 2017 HBCU All-Star. The Initiative recognized 62 All-Stars at the White House during its annual conference.
All-Starts are undergraduate, graduate, and continuing students nominated by higher education administrators for their excellence in the classroom and community. The Initiative appoints All-Stars annually to serve as ambassadors for the White House Initiative on HBCUs and to advocate for HBCU education.
“We’re pleased to hear the news and couldn’t be more proud to have Mr. Relf represent Lane College in this way,” said Lane College President Logan Hampton. “He’s been a wonderful student and leader on campus, and we look forward to seeing him in this role.”
Jacarri Relf is a sophomore business major, a Presidential Scholar, and is the business manager of the Lane College Student Government Association.
