University Trustee to Deliver Commencement Address at FHU

Henderson, Tennessee — (May 3, 2022) — Ted H. Williams, vice-chairman and chief executive officer of TriStar Bank in Dickson, Tennessee, will address Freed-Hardeman University graduates May 14, 2022, at commencement exercises in Loyd Auditorium. He is also chairman of the FHU Board of Trustees.

Williams earned a Bachelor of Science in education in 1986 at Freed-Hardeman University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Tennessee State University and has
completed many trade instruction programs in banking. He began his banking career in 1987 at Peoples Bank in Dickson. Elected to the bank’s board of directors in 1995, Williams rose to be the executive vice president and chief operating officer, a position he held until 1999. At that point, he and five other founding organizers launched a new community bank in 2000, TriStar Bank. Williams served as president until 2020 and is now the vice chairman and chief operating officer. He has been responsible for the bank’s day-to-day operations since its inception.

Williams is also very active in his community, serving on numerous boards and with various civic and professional organizations. These include various leadership positions with the Chamber of Commerce, American Heart Association, the Lions Club, Dickson Park Board, Tennessee Bankers Association and United Way. He is also a shepherd of the Walnut Street Church of Christ.
