FHU’s Seasons Magazine Increases Content and Engagement with New Digital Format

Henderson, Tennessee – (Nov. 14, 2024) – Freed-Hardeman University’s popular Seasons magazine is entering a new digital era, moving from a print publication to a dynamic online format that connects readers with FHU news on the go. The Fall 2024 issue, now available online, continues the magazine’s legacy of sharing campus highlights and community stories, accessible anytime at fhu.edu/seasons. Readers may also view the Summer 2024 issue online in the new format.

“Seasons magazine has been sharing the good news of FHU for over 30 years, and we are thrilled it will now be accessible to anyone with internet access,” FHU President David R. Shannon shared. “We want our readers to feel connected to Freed-Hardeman, wherever they are in the world.”

First introduced in the early 1990s, Seasons magazine was designed to connect alumni, friends and prospective students with the FHU community while celebrating the various seasons of life on campus. This full-color glossy magazine was an outgrowth of a previous publication titled FHC Today, a tabloid-size newsprint that was mailed to readers in the 1980s.

Freed-Hardeman community news now enters a new phase of growth, aligning with the ever-evolving needs of its readers. The interactive online format offers expanded creative potential, with each issue able to feature in-depth stories complemented by videos, photo galleries and animations. New digital issues are planned for three times per year, and individual stories can easily be shared with friends and family any time via social media.

The Fall 2024 issue spotlights an inspiring alumna’s journey to the Paris Olympics, recaps FHU’s “Welcome Home” and Interface events, and previews the upcoming 60th Anniversary of the Benefit Dinner. In addition to these feature stories, readers can explore coverage on academics, athletics, music, theatre, student and faculty achievements, and events that celebrate the greater FHU community.

Along with the latest content, guests of the site can also revisit numerous archived issues of past Seasons, including a look back at a never-before-seen online Summer 2024 edition which commemorates highlights from the 2023-24 school year. Feature articles from Summer 2024 include coverage of the NAIA Men’s Basketball Championship journey, the 88th annual Bible Lectureship, Makin’ Music 47 “Make Some Noise” and FHU’s spring commencement.

“Just as the seasons of life change, we want Seasons magazine to change and grow with our community,” Shannon shared. “We are delighted to stay connected with our alumni, donors, community members and future students in fresh and creative ways.”

The mission of Freed-Hardeman University is to help students develop their God-given talents for His glory by empowering them with an education that integrates Christian faith, scholarship and service. With locations in Henderson and Memphis, FHU offers associate, bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral degrees. More information is available at fhu.edu.
