FHU Theatre Presents Annual Alumni Show
Henderson, Tennessee — (Aug. 5, 2022) — Currently in rehearsal, FHU Theatre will present its Alumni Show featuring familiar faces and talented newcomers in the production of “Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express" adapted by Ken Ludwig. The production opens Thursday, Aug. 18, at the Black Box Theatre. Showtimes are at 7 p.m. Aug.18-19 and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Aug. 20. Individuals may purchase at https://fhutickets.universitytickets.com/.
This version of “Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express," has a twist with characters being combined in order to bring the cast from 20 to 12 characters.
“Some characters may act a bit differently,” said Kevin Record, FHU alumnus and director of the show. “We’ve managed to evoke the look of a train in the Black Box, which wouldn’t have been possible without the set designer, sound director and lighting director. It’s all very stylized and it looks great.”
The cast includes Seth Wilson as Hercule Poirot; Jordan Deck as Constantine Bouc; Hannah Graves as Mary Debenham; Cameron Miller as Hector Macqueen; Ray Eaton as Michel the Conductor/Head Waiter; Rachel Irwin as Princess Dragomiroff; Morgan Lanza as Greta Ohlsson; Victoria Travis as Countess Andrenyi; Chris Gann as Helen Hubbard; Brandyn Graves as Colonel Arbuthnot; Ryan Pickens as Samuel Ratchett and Eliza Pickens as Daisy Armstrong. Bryson Puckett and Krista Glass are part of the ensemble while Olivia Seymore is the understudy for Princess Dragomiroff. Marla Record served as the production’s set designer.
This is the fourth year for the FHU Alumni Show, which began as a way for local alumni to stay connected and bring the arts to the community. Previous shows have been “Clue: On Stage” in 2018 and “12 Angry Jurors” in 2019 - both shows were sold out. Following the COVID-19 shutdown in 2020, the alumni show returned in 2021 with “Failure: A Love Story”.
“We all like to stay involved and it’s a show not just for us, but for the community as well,” Record said.
