S.W.A.G. to host inaugural pageant

Aspiration will be the spokesperson for the organization

JACKSON, TN — Sisters With Aspiring Goals (S.W.A.G.) is hosting an Oct. 1 pageant that will crown a spokesperson for the organization.

For more than seven years, S.W.A.G. has been empowering, encouraging, and educating girls as young as 5 to become confident, successful adults who are workforce ready.

The pageant will provide a platform to empower girls to be confident while raising funds for S.W.A.G. to continue and expand its outreach and impact in the West Tennessee community.

Any girl between the ages of 15 and 21 can participate for the opportunity to be Miss Aspiration, a title meant to be an epitome for S.W.A.G. 's work of motivating and equipping girls to set, seek, and achieve their goals.

Girls will compete in an evening gown category. And because Miss Aspiration will be a representative for S.W.A.G., young ladies will be judged with an onstage question as well.

The pageant will be at the North Parkway Middle School gymnasium on Saturday, October 1, starting at 5:30 p.m. Applications are still available and can be provided to those interested if they contact S.W.A.G. director Ella Watkins at 731-803-4504 or Katie Hodges by email at hodgeskatie45@gmail.com.

There is a $30 entry fee.

Founded in 2015, Sisters With Aspiring Goals is a 501c(3) Nonprofit Organization that teaches and

develops girls’ personal responsibility, work ethic, and life skills through mentoring, community service

projects, and activities. S.W.A.G. partners with other nonprofit organizations, social service groups, the

City of Jackson, and community leaders to equip girls with the resources and tools to reach their goals

beyond their circumstances.
