Bemis Heritage Day will be celebrated on Saturday, May 18, 2024, 10am until 2pm at the Bemis Mill Village Museum which was built in 1921-1922 as the Bemis Auditorium located at 2 North Missouri Street in Jackson, TN.
Museum doors will open at 10:00am with free admission. Meet and greet with friends and then enjoy a barbecue plate for $10 (including soft drink) under the tent on the front lawn from 11:00am until 12:30pm or until sold out.
From 10:00am until 1:00pm, Bobby McAlexander will display his ceramic replica of the 1958-1972 Chat ‘N Chew including figures of friends.
Jackson-Madison Chapter, NSDAR, and Pinson Mounds Society, N.S.C.A.R., will distribute patches to our US veterans on Armed Forces Day.
At 1:00pm, Bemis Historical Society Chairman Joel Jackson will do a presentation on “How Water Built Bemis.”
Children can enjoy the splash pad at the Bemis Mill Memorial Park located at 7 A Street and the playground at the Stella Duncan Park of Bemis at 110 South Missouri Street and the Jackson Parks & Recreation Department will have games for children at the museum.
Bemis Historical Society looks forward to sharing their Bemis heritage on May 18. Anyone interested in the history of Bemis, Jackson, and Madison County is welcome to attend. Visit the museum’s company store and take home a souvenir. Items are listed on our website.
