The Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth (TCCY) is pleased to offer a unique learning opportunity.
Through a collaboration with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services and Building Strong Brains: Tennessee’s ACEs Initiative, TCCY will be hosting ten Training for Trainers learning opportunities across the state titled Building Strong Brains: the Role of Life Experience in Shaping Brain Development. This training will prepare individuals to deliver presentations on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in their communities. The ACEs presentation and training will include six concept areas: brain architecture, serve and return, toxic stress, ACEs prevalence and impact, resilience and ingenuity. It is our expectation the trainings will increase the capacity to raise awareness about ACEs.
Due to limited capacity, we will be accepting and reviewing applications to identify participants for each session across the state. Several factors will be considered in review and applicant selection including, but not limited to, area of practice, sphere of influence, agency capacity and geographic location.
