DSCC Hosts Annual Foundation Board Dinner
Dyersburg, Tennessee – Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) held its annual Foundation board meeting and dinner Nov. 15 at the Student Center on the Dyersburg campus. Over 50 DSCC faculty, staff, board members and their guests were in attendance for the special event.
Dinner was followed by special entertainment provided by the DSCC Choir ‘Syncopation.’ Jeff Agee, vice chair of the DSCC Foundation board of directors, opened the meeting for business followed by an update on the College by Dr. Karen Bowyer, president of DSCC.
Student speaker Danielle Reynolds of Dyersburg took the podium to express thanks to the board for their generous support. Reynolds is enrolled in DSCC’s nursing program and received the DSCC Adult Return to Learn Scholarship. Outgoing board members were recognized and presented with framed certificates of appreciation. Outgoing members included Dr. Mark Bowers, Martha Brasfield, Steve Bullard, Dr. Jayson Cannon, Chad Davis, Dr. John Gardner, Debbie Gordon, Joey Hays, Brad Keiser, Charlotte Kelley, Byron Medlin, Dr. Evelynn Miller, Jeff Shytle and Mark Waldron.
In closing, the election of new board members and officers were announced. New members include Eric Allen, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones, Charles Brasfield, Vice President and Loan Officer at Patriot Bank, Reba Celsor, CEO of Tennova Healthcare-Dyersburg Regional, John Ford, President of Ford Construction, Bill Joyner, Vice President of Security Bank, Judson Naifeh, Owner of Naifeh’s Grocery, Bradley Owens, Attorney at Hardee, Martin, Donahoe and Owens, P.A., and Pat Riley, General Manager of Gibson County Utility District.
