Corker to speak at Union commencement Dec. 17
JACKSON, Tenn. — Sen. Bob Corker will deliver the commencement address at Union University’s undergraduate commencement ceremony Dec. 17 at West Jackson Baptist Church at 10 a.m.
“Sen. Corker has been a great friend to Union University, and he’s proven himself to be a faithful public servant throughout his career,” Union University President Samuel W. “Dub” Oliver said. “We’re honored to welcome him as our commencement speaker.”
The 10 a.m. ceremony will be for all undergraduate students except for adult studies students. Another ceremony at 1:30 p.m. will be for graduate and adult studies students. C. Ben Mitchell, Union’s provost, will speak at the afternoon ceremony.
A total of about 300 students will receive their degrees during both services.
Lower level seating is reserved for those involved in the ceremony or for guests of graduates. Other visitors are requested to sit in the balcony.
