DSCC Plans Orientation for New Students and Returning Adults
Dyersburg, Tennessee – Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) will host several orientation events in January before the upcoming spring semester. All new students are required to attend an orientation event. They may complete this requirement either in-person or by using the online orientation option located inside their MyDSCC portal. Students should be reminded that spring semester classes begin Jan. 17.
New student orientations will be held at the DSCC Dyersburg campus Thursday, Jan. 5, from 2-4 p.m. inside the Student Center and at the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County Monday, Jan. 9, from 2-4 p.m. inside the Baptist Memorial Health Care Academic Building Auditorium.
Adult student orientations will be held at the DSCC Dyersburg campus Tuesday, Jan. 3, from 5:30-7 p.m. inside the Learning Resource Center; at the DSCC Gibson County Center Lobby Tuesday, Jan. 10, from 5:30-7 p.m.; and at the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County Thursday, Jan. 12, from 5:30-7 p.m. inside the Baptist Memorial Health Care Academic Building.
Students will be able to meet with advisors and instructors, get information about financial aid, tour the campus, learn about academic programs offered, obtain student IDs and parking passes, and learn about student life and organizations. Students, parents and legal guardians are welcome to attend.
The adult orientations will be focused on helping adult students ease into college. An adult student coordinator will be on hand to answer any questions they have about going back to school. Assistance with registration, financial aid and advising will also be available.
