Memphis, TN. (09/23/2016) – CHOICES is pleased to announce receipt ofa $50,000 grant from the Argosy Foundation to support the expansion of the organization’s program to provide free long acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) in the MidSouth region. “These grant funds will enable CHOICES to further our mission to provide excellent medical care in a judgement-free space and help people make informed decisions about their reproductive health ” says Katy Leopard, CHOICES’ Director of Community Partnerships. “Long acting reversible contraceptives are some of the most effective ways women can control the timing and frequency of their pregnancies. This means better outcomes for moms, babies, and communities.”
Support from Argosy Foundation will be used to expand CHOICES’ current no-cost LARC program by, by increasing access to medically accurate information and support for patient-driven decision-making; conducting local trainings for clinicians and other medical professionals on LARC efficacy and insertions; and increasing the effectiveness of CHOICES’ promotion and marketing efforts. The Argosy Foundation’s mission is to support people and programs that make our society a better place to live. They seek to employ creative and entrepreneurial approaches that help people to help themselves, and become self-sustaining whenever possible.
