Governor to Break Ground on I-40 Widening and Interchange Improvements Project
JACKSON, Tenn. – Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation officials will join state and
local leaders on Monday, October 2, 2017 to break ground on the I-40 Widening and interchange
improvements project.
The $67 million, 2.9-mile project includes widening I-40 from four lanes to six lanes from west of US45 By-Pass
(SR186) to west of N. Highland (SR5). This project also improves the interchange at I-40 with the US45 By-Pass,
as well as the intersection at Carriage House and Casey Jones Lane, and includes building a new interchange
at I-40 and N. Highland.
Monday’s event begins at 2:15 p.m. CDT and will last approximately 30 minutes.
