JMCSS Superintendent Candidate Interviews Scheduled

(February 10, 2017, Jackson, TN) –The Jackson-Madison County School Board has scheduled

Superintendent Candidate interviews with three candidates recommended by TSBA (Tennessee

School Board Association) as a result of their candidate search. Dr. Tammy Grissom, Executive

Director of TSBA, presented the following three candidates as recommendations from TSBA at

last night’s School Board meeting:

• Mr. Joel Hassell, Principal of Ripley High School, Ripley, Tennessee

• Dr. Eric Jones, National Institute for School Leadership Faculty, Washington, D.C.

• Dr. Tammy Knipp, Director of Schools, Putnam County Board of Education

Each of the candidates will visit our district next week. Interviews will be held at City Hall in the

City Council Room beginning at 5:00 PM. Dr. Knipp will be interviewed by the School Board on

Wednesday, February 15; Dr. Jones will be interviewed on Thursday, February 16; and Mr.

Hassell will be interviewed on Friday, February 17. The public is welcome to attend each

interview and will be provided resources for community feedback during the interview process.

Each of the interviews will be recorded and posted online for those who cannot attend the

meetings in person. Information will be provided on www.jmcss.org to locate the link to these

recorded interview sessions.

Following the interviews, the School Board will meet on Saturday, February 18, at 1:00 PM at

the Board of Education, Board Room to discuss and consider which of the three candidates will

best meet the needs of our district. The meeting on Saturday is also open to the public.
