Christmas under the STARs—Jackson’s First Drive Thru Christmas Lights Display
JACKSON, Tennessee, (August 9th, 2017)—The Star Center announced this week that they will
produce a drive thru Christmas light display at the Jackson Fairgrounds from November 25
through the end of December, 2017. Christmas under the STARs will bring professionally
designed light displays to Jackson. “We’ve been dreaming of a way to get outside the typical
nonprofit event box, and this idea captured our imagination,” said Dave Bratcher, President of
the Star Center. “We hope it becomes a family tradition for people across West Tennessee for
years to come.” The light show will feature a massive nativity scene and Rudolph’s Test Flight,
among many other displays. This event already has the support of local businesses, including
Leaders Credit Union, the Jackson Clinic, and Portfolio Recovery Associates. “When we saw an
opportunity to support the West TN community by not only raising money to help people with
disabilities realize their potential, but also bringing holiday cheer to thousands of families, we
jumped right in,” said Todd Swims, President and CEO of Leaders Credit Union. “This month-
long event will provide an opportunity to make the holidays special for so many and help
families start a tradition they can carry on for years to come.”
Proceeds of the event will benefit the work of the Star Center. Their mission is to help
any person, with any disability, to realize their potential. In 2016, The Star Center served over
1,700 clients in 21 counties in West Tennessee in a variety of service areas. The Star Center will
celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2018, and Christmas under the Stars is a great way to honor the
work this organization does in West Tennessee.
