May your New Year be prosperous and bright! Great things are abounding in 2018. For Haywood County, it's the Memphis Regional Megasite. For Humboldt and Gibson County, it's the new Tyson plant slated for completion in 2019. At the African American Chamber, we look forward to our members participating in those opportunities and more. We are working on our upcoming Jewel Awards in February, our second regional business conference, WTBS-EDC, in July and the 8th Follow Me Celebrity Golf Classic in September ... plus community partnerships with Tennessee Housing Development Agency and others! If you'd like our involvement, give us a call.
THDA: Down Payment Assistance Program
Residents in five West Tennessee counties -- Madison, Haywood, Lauderdale, Tipton and Shelby -- have the opportunity to buy houses in targeted zip codes and get $15,000 in the HHF Down Payment Assistance Program. Both zip codes in Madison County (38301, 38305) are covered by the program. To be eligible and to ensure successful ownership, those interested must complete an online or classroom Homebuyer Education course.
