Jackson-Madison County Library to Open One Hour Earlier Starting Jan. 2, 2019

JACKSON, Tenn. – Starting Jan. 2, 2019, the Jackson-Madison County Library’s main library in downtown Jackson will open at 9 a.m., one hour earlier than its previous opening time.

This change will provide patrons with six extra hours of availability per week to utilize the library’s vast collection of resources, including its computer lab and free public GIG Wi-Fi. Closing hours will remain the same, with the main library open Mon. through Thurs. from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Fri. and Sat. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The North Branch will continue to be open Tues. through Fri. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Together with the Library’s Board of Trustees, we believed it was in the best interest of serving the community to open one hour earlier,” said Dinah Harris, library director. “Our new tagline is ‘Opening Doors,’ and we are literally doing just that by offering these extended hours of operation.”

The Jackson-Madison County Library is located at 433 E. Lafayette St. in downtown Jackson.  For more information, contact the Library at 731-425-8600, visit the Library’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/JMCLibrary or its website at www.jmclibrary.org
