Mary Jo Middlebrooks to Speak on "Divorce and Your Children" on May 7, 2018

Jackson Area Business and Professional Women will meet on Monday, May 7 , 2018, at Baudo's Restaurant, 559 Wiley Parker Road in Jackson.   The meeting begins at 5:15 p.m. with dutch treat dinner. The featured speaker begins at 6:00 p.m.; the business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

Mary Jo Middlebrooks, of Jackson, will speak on “Divorce and Your Children." 

Middlebrooks, whose practice is in Jackson, is a Certified Family Law Specialist who received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University School of Law.  She opened her law firm in 1978 after clerking for Judge Lloyd Tatum.  She is one of only 11 Tennessee lawyers  recognized by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Family Law Specialist. 

She is the recipient of the 2018 Sue Shelton White Award, presented by Jackson Area Business & Professional Women and The Jackson Sun.  The award was announced at the Sterling Awards on April 10, 2018, in Jackson, Tennessee.   This is an annual award to an outstanding attorney in West Tennessee who is a community activist working to create or change legislation to improve the lives of women and children in the state of Tennessee. 

The meeting is free and open to the public.  Jackson Area BPW, a non-partisan organization, was formed in 1919 to promote women in business; the focus is on education and on legislative action.
