Senate Candidate Bill Hagerty raises $1.9 Million
The former Ambassador to Japan, and former Commissioner of Tennessee’s economic development, Bill Hagerty has raised $1.9 million in less than a month according to his campaign.
Hagerty’s fundraising haul, which has yet to be posted on the Federal Election Commissions website, came after he entered the race September 9.
His latest totals did not include any personal loans or contributions. Hagerty’s main top tier GOP opponent is Nashville trauma surgeon Manny Sethi, has yet to release his fundraising totals. Sethi raises $542,000 during the previous reporting period while loaning his campaign $1 million dollars.
Similarly Democrat James Mackler has also not released his latest fund raising totals. Between January and the end of June, Mackler raises $548,000
Tennessee United States Senate race in 2018 between Republican Marsha Blackburn ans Democrat Phil Bredesen was the most expensive in the state’s history with nearly $70 million spend by the candidates and outside groups.
Hagerty held a luncheon Tuesday noon at the Old Country Store in Jackson opened to the public.
