CELEBRATING OUR VETERANS
Join Us For A Weekend Of Activities November 8 & 9, 2019
Jackson, TN – The 7th Annual “Celebrating Our Veterans” Program will be held Friday, November 8th, 2019 at Englewood Baptist Church, 2239 N Highland Ave, Jackson, Tennessee beginning at 6:30pm. The keynote speaker will be Diane Hight, Founder/President of the veterans’ support group Forever Young Senior Veterans. Music will be provided by Jackson native Laurice Lanier, and JSCC’s Innovation Choral Group. The event is free to attendees. Join us in showing our appreciation to the Veterans for the sacrifices they made for our country.
On Saturday, November 9th, 2019, the 5th annual Downtown Veterans Parade will be held in downtown Jackson beginning at 11:00am. Churches throughout Jackson and West Tennessee are invited to ring their bells to acknowledge the Veterans. Anyone wishing to ride, march, or walk in the parade is urged to register by phoning (731) 427-1271. Military veterans from World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War are encouraged to participate. The Veterans Committee can arrange transportation with advance notice. There is no entry fee for the parade participants.
The events are brought to you by the Veterans Program Committee, City of Jackson, and County of Madison. Plan to join this celebration and remembrance of those who have served our country in the armed forces.
