The Jackson-Madison County Airport Authority was notified on January 10th...that the Airport Authority had been awarded $913,181.00. This grant is provided by the Tennessee Economic Development Fund and awarded by The Tennessee Division of Aeronautics to impact job growth and development at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport in Jackson Tennessee.
Steve Smith, Executive Director...praised the Management Team at the airport for working on this project, "This was a team effort," said Smith...plus without the support of Madison County Mayor, Jimmy Harris and Scott Conger, Mayor of Jackson as well as the Jackson Chamber of Commerce this grant would not have been a reality.
"The Development strategy for this fund is to impact job creation and investment opportunities in Tennessee's Aviation industry"....said Michelle Fraizer, Director of Aeronautics, TDOT.
