Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society
Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Program Center of the Jackson-Madison County Library at 433 East Lafayette Street in Jackson.
Gwendolyn McCaffrey McReynolds will present the program on February 11, and her topic will be Yorkville’s World War II Service Flag. Gwen wrote a book, The Story of the Yorkville High School World War II Banner, about the Service Flag that was sewn by the Home Economics teacher and her students from 1942 until 1945. In the book, Gwen attempted to identify each person whose star was sewn on the Service Flag. The book also contains information about what the town of Yorkville (Gibson County, TN) was like during World War II. Join us on February 11 to hear this interesting program.
Annual membership dues are $20 and include quarterly issues of “Family Findings” published by the Society. Mail dues payment to Mid-West TN Genealogical Society, 841 Sanford Street, Henderson, TN 38340-2006. Anyone interested in genealogy is invited to attend the meetings.
