PUBLIC NOTIFICATIONS OF NURSING HOME POLICIES
RELATED TO CIVIL RIGHTS, SECTION 504,
AGE DISCRIMINATION, TITLE IX
It is the policy of Mission Convalescent Home, Inc. to admit and
treat all residents without regard to race, sex, color, age, national
origin, or handicap. There is no distinction in eligibility for, or
in manner of providing any resident service by or through Mission
Convalescent Home, Inc. Services are available without distinction to
all residents and visitors, regardless of race, sex, color, age,
national origin, or handicap. All person and organizations having
occasion either to refer residents for accommodations or to recommend
Mission Convalescent Home, Inc. are advised to do so without regard to
the resident’s race, sex, color, age, national origin, or handicap.
All services provided at Mission convalescent Home, Inc. to
residents receiving personal care and ancillary services, contracted
therapeutic, diagnostic, nursing service, or emergency services are
uniformly provided without regard to race, sex, color, age, national
origin, or handicap.
All residents are treated in turn and in accordance with the
urgency of their medical needs. The assignment of staff to residents
for all nursing home services is not governed by race, sex, color,
age, national origin, or handicap.
Nursing home policies regarding admission, care, as well as all
policies regarding deposits and other financial matters are applied
uniformly and without inquiries prior to admission regarding race,
sex, color, age, national origin, or handicap.
The nursing home insures that physicians using Mission Convalescent
Home, Inc. for admission of residents do not consider race, sex,
color, age, national origin, or handicap as a factor in selecting
nursing homes for their patients. The nursing home has a
responsibility to determine the reason for significant census and
available population census data for the nursing home care, and to
take what action may be necessary to correct any discrimination.
Residents are assigned to room and wings according to the nursing
home service level required as the result of medical diagnosis, and
determination of individual resident care need, without regard to
race, sex, color, age, national origin, or handicap. Room assignments
and/or transfers are not made by asking the person and/or his legal
agent whether they are willing to share accommodations with persons of
a different race, sex, color, age, national origin, or handicap. All
resident transfers to other rooms in the same class accommodation are
made only by the attending physician or nursing home administrator
where a valid medical reason exists.
