NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS OF CONSTRUCTION BIDS

Sealed bids will be received by the City of McKenzie at their offices at 2470 Cedar Street, McKenzie, TN 38201, until 12:00 PM,
Friday, June 09, 2017 and opened publicly at 2470 Cedar Street, McKenzie, TN 38201 at that hour. The reading of the bids will
begin at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 09, 2017.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The City of McKenzie intends to install Street Lighting along Waldren Street, between East Bruce Street and Cedar Street. The work
includes, but is not limited to, the installation of four light standards and all associated hardware along with any sidewalk/pavement
repair required during construction.
PROPOSAL CONTRACTS WILL BE ISSUED UNTIL THE TIME SET FOR OPENING BIDS
A Prime Contractor must prequalify with the Department of Transportation in accordance with Section 54-5-117 of the “Tennessee
Code Annotated” and Tennessee Department of Transportation Rule 1680-5-3 prequalification of contractors before biddable
proposals will be furnished.
The City of McKenzie hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this
advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation, and
will not be discriminated against on the grounds of age, race, color, religion, national origin, sex or disability in consideration for an
award.

Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained at the office(s) of the City of McKenzie, 2470 Cedar Street, McKenzie, TN
38201 (731-352-2292) after 12:00 PM CDT on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 for a non-refundable fee of $50.
No bid will be opened unless the outside of the sealed envelope containing the bid provides the following information:
Project Title
Bidder’s name and address
Contract for which Bid is submitted
In the case of joint ventures, this information must be provided by each party submitting the bid.
All Bids must be made out on the Bid Form bound in with the bid manual. This Bid Form must not be detached from the bid manual.
With his bid, each Bidder must deposit security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, subject to the conditions
stated in the Instruction to Bidders.
A Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum will be required of the successful Bidder.
No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
