JEFFERSON COUNTY COUPLE ACCUSED OF FILING A FALSE REPORT
JEFFERSON COUNTY – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has led to the indictment of a Jefferson County couple accused of falsely reporting an assault incident.
In March, at the request of 4th District Attorney General James Dunn, TBI Special Agents began investigating allegations involving Robert Kyle Blevins III (DOB 05/01/80) and Haelee C. Blevins (DOB 09/08/95). On March 23rd, deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the couple’s home in reference to a 911 call made by Haelee, during which she told dispatchers that she and her husband had an argument that turned physical. Upon arrival, the couple gave deputies a different story and stated that they were driving home when they encountered an SUV on West Highway 11E. The couple further stated that they pulled over and an unidentified man jumped out of the SUV and began hitting Robert Blevins, causing injuries to his face. During the course of the investigation, Agents determined that the incident involving the encounter with the unidentified man did not occur and that the couple fabricated the story to cover up a domestic assault.
On Thursday, the Jefferson County Grand Jury returned indictments charging the couple. Haelee Blevins is charged with one count of False Reports and one count of Domestic Assault. Robert Blevins is charged with one count of False Reports. Today, both individuals turned themselves in and were booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
