DSCC Announces Auditions for Spring Production of Mockingbird

Dyersburg, Tennessee – Dyersburg State Community College’s (DSCC) Theatre Department has announced auditions for its spring production of “Mockingbird” by Julie Jensen. Adapted from Kathryn Erskine’s award-winning novel of the same title, “Mockingbird” is the story of a young girl on the autism spectrum whose older brother and protector Devon has died tragically. The death of her brother leaves her to face the world with only her father. Jensen describes the play as “a combination of chaos and control,” as it is presented from the girl’s perspective.

The play will be presented April 6 – 8, in support of Autism Awareness Month. Auditions will be held Thursday, Feb. 2, at 5:30 p.m., and Friday, Feb. 3, at 4 p.m. Multiple roles are available for both males and females. For more information, or to check out a script overnight, please contact Director Meleia Lewis at 731-286-3261.
