Meet the Entertainers! 17th Annual JEWEL Awards
Two American Idols, Keia Johnsonand Lil Rounds, will perform along with recording artist, songwriter, singer, and music producer JL (aka Jawaskia Lake of Soulink Music Radio) at the upcoming JEWEL Awards Banquet on Friday, February 23rd, 6:30 p.m. at Oman Arena in Jackson.
The Annual JEWEL Awards recognizes outstanding African American business owners and raises funds for the African American Chamber's free Follow Me Into Business® youth development program for ages 12 to 18. Business award nominations are being accepted through January 23rd. Click here to download the nomination form.
In addition, this year's event will recognize icons of the local and area Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's as Historical Pioneers in Activism. The year 2018 marks the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (who has a street named for him in right here in Jackson).
