Discovery Park of America is today announcing the sixth winner of the Artist Showcase competition

Russel Bash of Paducah, KY is the winner of Discovery Park of America’s Artist Showcase.  The public is invited to a free reception to meet the artist and see the new exhibit on Thursday, July 12t at 5:00 p.m. in Dinosaur Hall.  The winning entry will be on display in Art Hall on the lower level of Discovery Center for six months beginning July 13th.  For information on the next Artist Showcase competition, visit the park’s website at www.discoveryparkofamerica.com . 

Science of Rock N Roll Traveling Exhibition Opens at Discovery Park of America in Union City

Pictured are thirteen students from The School of Rock Memphis who entertained the audience during a sold-out fundraising dinner on Thursday, May 24th  at Discovery Park of America in Union City.  The dinner kicked off the opening of the Science of Rock N Roll featured exhibition which will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  The exhibit is open in the ATA Traveling Exhibit Hall and features over 4,000 square feet of educational, entertaining, interactive and fun facts about rock music since the early 1950s to present.  The cost to visit the exhibit is $5.00 for students, $6.00 for member and $7.00 for all others. It will be open through September 4th, and is a must-see for anyone who likes rock music. 

 

 

Elton John's music featured in upcoming #DPA concert

Elton Dan will make you think you’re at an Elton John concert as he tickles the ivories and plays all your favorite Elton John hits!   Discovery Park of America’s Great Lawn gates will open at 5:30 on May 5th with yard games, food trucks,  and energetic music throughout the evening!  Tickets are $10 for ages 13+ with children 12 and under getting in free.  The Children’s Discovery Garden will be open so that the entire family can come out and enjoy the evening, event planners said.  For more information, visit the park’s website at www.discoveryparkofamerica.com
