Gamma Psi Represented at 94 th Conclave
National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. 94 th Anniversary Conclave was held in Little Rock,
Arkansas with Gamma Psi Representatives Pat Taylor and LaToshia Chism as delegates and
members Rose Anderson, Sylvia Clark, Delois Dailey, Deborah Day, Deborah Gipson-Mckinnie,
and Stephanie Miller in attendance. The conference theme was “Embracing the Standards,
Raising the Bar: Narrative of Bravery and Hope”. Educational workshops, leadership institutes,
sororal workshops, vital issues breakfast, president’s reception, and tours were some of the
events the attendees participated in. The celebration of the Little Rock Nine, who integrated
Little Rock Central High in 1957, was featured through the introduction of and special
recognition of living Little Rock Nine to the conference attendees, speakers, skits, and dramatic
productions.
Gamma Psi members Sylvia Clark and LaToshia Chism were first time attendees. Delois Dailey
was installed as Southeast Region Board member of the Perpetual Scholarship Foundation. This
foundation awards each year a scholarship of $1,500 to a female and a male graduating senior
from the five regions who are enrolling in college to pursue a degree in education. Gamma Psi
Chapter is in the Southeast Region. Patricia Taylor, Basileus of Gamma Psi, facilitated the Xinos
and Kudos Youth Group Workshop. The conference is held in the odd years of the calendar
with the aim to improve, enhance, inspire, and award CU hours to attendees so that they can
continue to embrace the standards of education, raising the bar with bravery and hope.
