Gamma Psi Sorority Selects New Leadership
National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Gamma Psi Chapter has new officers for the sororial years of 2017 -2019. Recently installed were Patricial Taylor, President (Basileus); Latisha King, Second Vice-President (Second Anti-Basileus); Darlene Palmer, Recording Secretary (Grammateus); Karen Phelps, Treasurer (Tamias); Rose Anderson, Dean of Pledges; and Sylvia Clark, Editor to the Krinon. The sorority was chartered in July 1977 and begins 40 years of service this September. Many scholarships have been awarded by the chapter to graduating seniors and youth members. Participation in international, national, and local projects include early childhood educational events, contributions to Africare, Meharry Medical College for sickle cell research, walk for education, assault on literacy, professional development for teachers, recognition of African-American achievements, health initiatives, and commission on civil rights, education and legislative affairs that affect children and the profession.
