Obion County youth will share their musical talents and raise their voices in song to help families this Christmas season.
Three special singing groups are being hosted by Community Concert Association of Union City/Obion County Sunday (Dec. 3) for a 2 p.m. performance at the Union City Civic Auditorium.
The community is invited to attend this special concert for a special admission fee — one or more new unwrapped toy(s), two or more non-perishable food items or $5 — which will be donated to Chimes for Charity. Association members will be admitted with their membership tickets, but may also wish to participate in this giving event.
The three groups which will be singing are Obion County Children’s Chorus, made up of students from all elementary schools in the Obion County School System; and Union City Elementary School’s Chorus Kids and Voices of UCES.
Obion County Children’s Chorus is under the direction of Jeanne Foster. They will be performing “A Jingle Bell Christmas,” “North Pole, North Pole,” “White Christmas” and “Santa Claus is on His Way.”
Chorus Kids is directed by Kathleen Parker. They will be singing “Nice Not Naughty,” “Everlasting Fruitcake,” “Better Bundle Up” and “Cancion de la Navidad.”
Voices of UCES is lead by director Allison Butner. The students will be performing “Like Diamonds in the Night,” “Winter Walk,” “Snow,” “Falling Snow” and “Snow Day.”
To wrap up the concert, the three groups will be joined by members of the Union City High School choir.
