2017 DAR Outstanding Junior Member Chosen

       Jackson-Madison Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) announced their 2017 Chapter Outstanding Junior at the annual Founders Day Tea held onSaturday, October 21.  The 2017 Outstanding Junior is Ashley Faulkner.  Ashley joined Jackson-Madison Chapter in February 2015.  A third generation Daughter, she is the granddaughter of chapter member Beverly Dutcher, and daughter of chapter member Sandra Faulkner.  She has attended at least two TSDAR fall workshops; a junior retreat and served as a delegate at the TSDAR state conference where she ran in the Junior Strut race.  Ashley also ran the St. Jude Marathon last year in honor of a family member who suffers from cancer. She records more Service to America hours than 90 per cent of the chapter. She rolled up her sleeves to clean tombstones for the chapter’s Historic Preservation/Memorial Day project at Bemis Cemetery.  She chairs the DAR Museum Outreach Committee.  She has a Bachelor’s in Nursing from the University of Memphis. She is a RISE Level II RN and holds a Medical Surgical Nurse Certification. She is a patient care coordinator at Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare Germantown.  Jackson-Madison Chapter NSDAR is proud to present Ashley Faulkner as our 2017 Outstanding Junior Member.

     The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children.  Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War.  With more than 185,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.  DAR is non-partisan and non-political, and welcomes any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineage to a Revolutionary War patriot.

     Jackson-Madison Chapter NSDAR was chartered in April 1901, and is one of the oldest and most active chapters in the state of Tennessee.
