Lane College Vice President of Academic Affairs appointed to the 2017-2018
American Council on Education Fellows Program
Lane College is proud to announce that Dr. Michelle Stewart, Vice President of Academic
Affairs has been named to be one of 46 new members to the American Council on Education
Fellows Program for the 2017-2018 class.
According to the ACE website, “Since 1965, nearly 2,000 vice presidents, deans, department
chairs, faculty, and other emerging leaders have participated in the ACE Fellows Program, a
customized learning experience that enables participants to immerse themselves in the culture,
policies, and decision-making processes of another institution. The ACE Fellows Program helps
ensure that higher education’s future leaders are ready to take on real-world challenges and serve
the capacity-building needs of their institutions.”
Dr. Stewart said it is an extreme honor to be named to the ACE Fellow Program and the
knowledge she will gain can only help Lane College.
“The ACE Fellows Program helps to educate leaders of an institution by showing them what
other institutions are implementing across the country,” Stewart said. “Lane College is dedicated
to giving the student the best possible academic experience. Through the ACE Fellows Program
Lane College will discover ways to improve an already excellent quality education.”
Lane College has been named as one of the top 100 National Liberal Arts Universities in the
Nation and is the fourth least expensive private college in the nation. Having a top-level
administrator appointed to the ACE Fellows Program is validation that Lane College is being
recognized nationally for its truly high-level academic experience.
