Dr. Tamara Daniel Appointed Vice President at Dyersburg State
Dyersburg, Tennessee - Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) President Karen Bowyer has announced the appointment of Dr. Tamara Daniel as the new vice president for the College.
“We are fortunate to have Dr. Daniel accept the role of vice president for the College,” stated Dr. Karen Bowyer, president of DSCC. “Her extensive experience in the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) system, along with many years of academic supervision and oversight will be an asset to DSCC.”
Dr. Daniel comes to DSCC from sister TBR institution Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis where she has served as associate dean since 2013, department chair of Mathematics since 2011, director and advisor of international studies since 2008, and assistant professor, associate professor and professor since 2000. She previously held the position of assistant division chair of mathematics, natural science, geography and physical education from 1995-1997 and instructor of mathematics from 1992-1995 at Coastal Carolina Community College. She also served as developmental mathematics instructor from 1997-2000 at Shelby State Community College.
Dr. Daniel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Mississippi in 1984 and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi in 1989. She received a doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi in 1992.
