The Great Outdoors of West Tennessee has lost one of its' greatest members this past week. Frankie " Mr. Kidd" Jones has been spending his pastime in the Great Outdoors of West Tennessee for many years and he was one of the best fishermen and hunters to grace the National Hatchie Refuge and rural West Tennessee. He one planning on retiring from the City of Brownsville in December and focusing on the Great Outdoors as well as just enjoying the freedom of not go to work every morning.
Having been born is Northern Mississippi Mr. Kidd moved to Stanton at 9 years old and quickly became interested in outdoor activities. He was a Master Crappie fishermen and prided himself on having more patience than most people. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors even on slow fishing days. His attitude for enjoying himself while outdoors was contagious and he was a pleasure to be around for all friends who spent time with him. Also, he had a passion for rabbit hunting and usually hunted with "Bo Man Wise" who has a reputation for knowing the National Hatchie River Bottoms better than anyone else. On one outdoor trip to Hatchie Bottoms they could hunt in the morning and fish in the evening while being successful at both. I will miss my hunting and fishing buddy as well as carpet cleaning partner of 25 years. For those who knew him we were blessed to be around one of the Greatest Outdoorsmen West Tennessee has even known. I always end my reports with something positive about the kids but this article is about Mr. Kidd.
