PLANS FOR ANNUAL CHILDREN’S GRIEF CAMP ANNOUNCED

PLANS FOR ANNUAL CHILDREN’S GRIEF CAMP ANNOUNCED

Jackson, Tennessee (March 20, 2018) — Hospice of West Tennessee and the West Tennessee
Healthcare Foundation are proud to again sponsor the 14th annual children’s grief camp, Camp WINGS.
The unique and enlightening weekend-long camp will be held at the Mid-South youth camp in
Henderson, Tennessee from Friday, August 3 until Sunday, August 5.
Camp WINGS, which stands for Wisdom, Insight, Knowledge, & Guidance through Sorrow, is designed
for children ages 7-14 who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Trained staff, counselors and volunteers
will be on hand to ensure that children are offered a safe and supportive environment. Campers will be
paired with a trained adult “buddy,” who spends the weekend with them having fun, laughing, and
helping to develop necessary tools to work with the ongoing grief process.
Hospice of West Tennessee and West Tennessee Healthcare are proud to offer this amazing experience
to children free of charge. The camp operates entirely on volunteers and donations. The deadline to
register to attend Camp WINGS is Tuesday, July 17.
For more information on registering a child, or to make a donation, please contact Pat Bard, LBSW, by
calling 731.660.1086 or e-mailing pat.bard@wth.org.
