Carol Reese, Local Horticulturist, to Speak at the Library
(Jackson, TN-) Please join the Friends of the Library on Thursday, May 3, 2018
at 12:00 p.m., for the Noon Book Review. The program presenter is Carol Reese,
the Regional UT Extension Horticulturist at West Tennessee Research and
Education Center. Her knowledge and wit have made her a very popular speaker
both locally and nationally. She often says that she is not afraid to call a “spade a
spade” or a “trowel a trowel”. Her topic is “Come Take a Walk on the Wild Side”
to find out how your wild life garden can be alive with birds, bees, and butterflies
and still have a strong design.
Also, there will be a plant swap after the program. Those who are interested in
increasing their collection of landscape plants may bring one or several and take as
many as are brought. Plants will be placed outside at the northeast corner of the
library building or the northwest corner of the Lafayette St. parking lot. This event
has been very popular in the past and is eagerly anticipated every spring.
Bring a sack lunch, enjoy desserts provided by the Friends of the Library during
the review, and take home some new plants for the landscape.
