EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS CONFERENCE KICKS OFF WEDNESDAY
JACKSON, Tenn. – The 8th Annual Tennessee Emergency Preparedness Summit kicks off
Wednesday, Nov. 13 in the Carl Grant Events Center at Union University.
The two-day conference draws approximately 200 people from across the state, including
firefighters, law enforcement, public health workers, Emergency Medical Service (EMS),
Emergency Management Agency (EMA), and healthcare coalition members.
This is the state’s only multi-discipline all-hazards conference. Attendees will learn about a
variety of topics including how accelerant detection canines are used in criminal
investigations, responding to ritualistic scenes, bridging the generation gap in the workplace,
EMS response to Hurricane Florence and more.
The conference runs from 7:40 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13 and Thursday, Nov.
