Bemis Historical Society monthly meeting

Bemis Historical Society will hold a regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 19, at 7:00 p.m.  Rather than meeting at the Bemis Museum, this meeting will be held at the Bemis United Methodist Church located at 23 Massachusetts Street in Jackson.  The program will be presented by Alice Yarbro Holtin.

World War II remains a favorite subject of history buffs.  No book, movie, or television special can capture the first-hand feelings and experiences as well as a re-enactment.  The “Remembering WWII” event in Linden, TN has been widely acclaimed as being one of the best of its kind.  Perhaps most tellingly, the reenactors themselves have held it in the highest regard.  Alice Holtin has been a volunteer at the heart of this living history event for the past five years and will give an overview of the event at this month's meeting of the Bemis Historical Society.

The public is invited to attend the meeting.
