DAR to Honor Vietnam War Surviving Spouses

Jackson-Madison Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a Commemorative Partner with the United States Vietnam War Commemoration.  The goal of the Commemoration is to recognize and honor Vietnam War veterans and their families.

Jackson-Madison DAR will recognize and honor the surviving spouses of active duty veterans who served between 1 November 1955 and 15 May 1975 in any location. These will be veterans whose names are not on the Vietnam War Memorial Wall in Washington DC, but who survived and returned home.

Surviving Spouses will receive a certificate of appreciation and a lapel pin from the USA Vietnam War 50th Commemoration.

Hard deadline for submission of names is May 25. We need veteran’s name, branch of service, and date of death. We also need the name of the surviving spouse as it should appear on the certificate. Include email or phone number of surviving spouse or family member. Email information to JUtleyDAR@gmail.com or phone 731-293-5055.

Surviving Spouses will be honored during of the DAR Field of Flags Dedication at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019, in downtown Jackson.

Jackson-Madison Chapter was organized on June 14, 1901, and is one of the oldest and most active chapters in the state of Tennessee.
