Austin Family of Scotts Hill, TN will host a program about their family history

Charles and Phoebe Ellen Woodward Austin were early settlers of Scotts Hill, Tennessee. They migrated from North Carolina in 1825. Gordon Turner published The History of Scotts Hill, Tennessee, in 1977. The book states Charles and Phoebe had 12 children, 83 grandchildren, and 320+ great-grandchildren.

 

Today, their numerous descendants are located throughout the United States and especially West Tennessee. Their children were Hulda Austin Maness, Rachel Austin Jones, Ephraim H. Austin, Mehalia Austin Scott, Pleasant Woodward Austin, Alfred Charles Austin, Abigail Austin Medlin, George Washington Austin, James Madison Austin, Francis Marion Austin, Benjamin Franklin Austin, and Cynthia Austin Holmes.

 

Descendants Linda Goff Farmer and Kathy Haney Williams will present a program about the Austin family on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Scotts Hill Senior Center, 96 Highway 114 South, Scotts Hill. There is no admission charge, and the public is welcome to attend.
