RIFA’s 17th Annual Canstruction Event To Be Held September 29, 2022
JACKSON, TN, September 20, 2022 - RIFA’s 17th annual Canstruction event will be held Thursday, September 29th at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. The event is a unique team competition in which competing teams showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made entirely out of canned foods. At the close of the exhibition, all of the food used in the structures is donated to RIFA for those in need throughout the Jackson-Madison County area.
Participants of the competition include local businesses, churches, industries and schools who will build the structures on September 27th at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. Finished structures will be judged and have the chance to win one of nine prizes including Best of Show, Structural Ingenuity, Best Use of Labels, and more at RIFA’s awards ceremony and night of entertainment on Thursday, September 29th.
“This is RIFA's biggest event of the year,” says Lisa Tillman, Executive Director of RIFA. “It allows us to further our mission of reaching out with the love of Christ to nourish people both spiritually and physically. All of the food used by the teams helps RIFA to feed our hungry neighbors throughout the final quarter of the year."
The event, which is for all ages, will feature Rik Roberts as entertainment. Rik Roberts is a comedian and speaker based out of Nashville, TN who focuses on providing 100% clean comedy and creative keynotes to groups who need a fun and engaging program.
